Employee Self Service App for Your Whole Team
“How many leaves do I have?” “Is Monday a holiday?” “Can you send my payslip?” With iPresent ESS, employees find these answers on their phone and HR gets its day back.
An employee self service app, or ESS portal, lets staff handle their own routine HR requests without calling or messaging HR. In iPresent, employees update their profile, upload joining documents, apply for leave or comp-off, check their attendance and the holiday calendar, read company policies, submit expense claims and, on the Tally plan, download payslips.
Self-service is part of every iPresent plan from Standard up, on Android and iPhone. iPresent by Infoways is set up by our team in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, and we train staff in Hindi, Marathi or English for companies in Mumbai, Thane, Pune and across India. It is the part of iPresent your employees will use most, so it is built for people who are not comfortable with software.

How Infoways gets every employee using ESS
- 01
Load profiles first
We import employee details so each person opens the app and sees their own name, branch and manager, not a blank form.
- 02
Upload your policies
Send us your leave, travel and HR policies. We add them to the documents section before staff log in.
- 03
Set the holiday calendar
We add the year’s holidays before launch, so the first thing staff check gives them a correct answer.
- 04
Short training for staff
A ten-minute walkthrough in Hindi, Marathi or English, on how to log in, apply leave and check attendance.
- 05
Tell staff where to ask
Once live, HR replies to routine questions with a pointer to the app. Within a few weeks, people check there first.

Where self-service makes the biggest difference
In a manufacturing unit in TTC MIDC running three shifts, workers on the night shift cannot reach HR during office hours. With ESS, a worker finishing at 6 am can check his attendance and apply for comp-off before going home.
A school with 60 teachers and staff gets the same leave and holiday questions every term. With the holiday calendar and leave balance in the app, the office stops answering them one by one. A chain of clinics across Thane can share one policy document with every branch and know everyone is reading the same version.
A logistics firm in JNPT and Uran hires drivers and loaders often. New joiners upload their ID and address proof in the app on day one, so the office is not chasing photocopies for weeks and the file is complete before the first salary.
What self-service costs
ESS is included in the Standard plan at Rs 270 per app user per year, together with attendance and asset management. There is no extra charge per request. Expense claims need the Essential Expenses or Enterprise plan, and payslips need the Tally add-on. A 60-person team on Standard with one HR login pays Rs 16,200 plus Rs 3,600, so Rs 19,800 a year before GST. See all plans on the iPresent pricing page.
Why some ESS rollouts fail
Self-service only works if the information inside it is right. If leave balances are not set correctly at the start, the first thing staff see is a wrong number, and they stop trusting the app. Get opening balances checked before going live. The second reason is HR continuing to answer every WhatsApp question as before. If the old route stays easier, people use it.

Employee Self Service: Common Questions
What is an employee self service portal?
It is an app or website where employees handle their own HR tasks, like applying for leave, checking attendance, reading policies and downloading payslips, without going through HR each time.
Is the iPresent ESS a website or an app?
Employees use the iPresent app on Android or iPhone. Admins and HR use the web dashboard.
Can employees download payslips?
Yes, on the Tally integrated plan. Payslips appear in the employee app after each payroll run.
Can new joiners upload their documents?
Yes. During onboarding, new employees upload their documents in the app, so HR does not need to collect photocopies.
Can staff apply for comp-off?
Yes. Employees can apply for leave or comp-off from the app, and the request goes to their manager for approval.
What if some workers are not comfortable with apps?
Infoways trains staff in Hindi, Marathi or English, and most tasks take two or three taps. Attendance for workers without a phone can be taken on a shared device.
Does self-service cost extra?
No. It is part of every iPresent plan from Standard at Rs 270 per app user per year.
Will HR still see everything?
Yes. Every leave request, document upload and claim shows on the web dashboard, and approvals still go to the manager or HR you choose. Self-service removes the back-and-forth, not your control.
