What a manufacturer actually needs online

Most manufacturers do not need a flashy website. They need three things to work well: buyers who search for a part must find you and send a proper enquiry, dealers who reorder every month must be able to do it without calling your office five times, and machines you have sold must get serviced on time so the customer buys from you again. If your business runs on WhatsApp photos of handwritten orders, Excel price lists that are three versions old and a service register on the shop floor, that is where the money leaks.

This page is for MSMEs and growing manufacturers: fabrication and machining units, plastic moulders, pump and valve makers, packaging converters, chemical and coatings companies, and machine builders. Many of them sit in the TTC industrial belt (Mahape, Rabale, Turbhe, Pawane), Taloja, Bhiwandi, Ambernath, or Chakan and Bhosari near Pune. The sales cycle is long, the order value is high, and most revenue comes from a small set of repeat buyers and dealers.

Infoways is a web, app and software company in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, close to many of these units. We build the B2B website, the dealer and field apps, and the admin software that links them to Tally or your ERP, so an enquiry, a quotation, an order and a service visit all live in one place.

You do not have to build it all at once. Most manufacturers start with a catalogue website that brings RFQs, then add the dealer app once the price lists are clean, and add service tickets after that.

Problems We Fix

Where manufacturing businesses lose money, and the fix

These are the gaps we see again and again in plants and sales offices.

RFQs with no drawing, no quantity

A contact form that says "send price" wastes your estimator's day. An RFQ form that asks for drawing, material, quantity and delivery location gets a quote out the same day.

Wrong price sent to a dealer

When price lists live in Excel, one dealer gets last year's rate. Dealer-wise price tiers in the app mean every order is priced right, every time.

Orders above the credit limit

Sales books an order, accounts finds the dealer is already overdue. The app checks credit limit and open balance from Tally before the order is accepted.

"Where is my material?" calls

Dispatch status, invoice number and LR number show in the dealer app, so your office stops answering the same call ten times a day.

Breakdown calls lost on WhatsApp

A service ticket with machine serial, photo and warranty status goes to the right engineer, and you can see which tickets are open past their promised time.

Quotations nobody follows up

Every quote gets a status and a follow-up date. You see which quotes are pending, which were lost on price, and which salesperson is sitting on them.

Example: a pump maker in Taloja, from search to service visit

Say you make monoblock and submersible pumps in Taloja and sell through 60 dealers in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Today, dealers call or WhatsApp your sales coordinator, who checks stock with the store, checks the dealer's outstanding with accounts, and then types the order into Tally. A busy Monday has 40 such calls. All numbers here are only an example.

With the system in place, a dealer in Nashik opens the app, sees his own price list (say 32 percent off list, as agreed for his tier), adds 10 pumps of one model and 4 of another, and the app shows his credit limit of Rs 8 lakh with Rs 5.5 lakh already used. The order of Rs 1.9 lakh fits, so it goes straight to the dispatch queue. If it did not fit, it would wait for the accounts head to approve it with one tap.

Your team packs the order, Tally raises the invoice, and the e-way bill and LR number are entered once. The dealer sees 'Dispatched' with the transporter name and LR number, and stops calling. Six months later, a farmer's pump installed by that dealer trips. The dealer raises a service ticket with the pump's serial number and a photo. The system shows it is still under warranty and assigns it to your nearest service engineer, who closes it with a photo of the repaired unit.

Meanwhile, a project consultant in Hyderabad finds your website while searching for a pump with a certain head and flow, downloads the datasheet and sends an RFQ for 25 units with a spec sheet attached. Your estimator gets it with all the details, and the quote, its revisions and its follow-ups are tracked in the same admin panel.

How We Build It

How Infoways builds your manufacturing software

  1. 01

    Plant and office walk-through

We sit with sales, accounts, dispatch and service to see how an order and a complaint actually move today, including the Excel files and WhatsApp groups.

  2. 02

Clean the product and price data

Product codes, grades, sizes and dealer price tiers are the base of everything. We help you put them in one master list before design starts.

  3. 03

    Design the screens

Simple screens for dealers who use the app on a phone in a shop, and for engineers on site. You approve them before we write code.

  4. 04

Build and connect Tally or ERP

Website, apps and admin panel are built in milestones, with the Tally or ERP link tested on a copy of your data first.

  5. 05

    Pilot with a few dealers

Five or ten friendly dealers use it for two to three weeks. We fix what confuses them before the full rollout.

  6. 06

Launch on Play Store and App Store, then SEO

Apps go live on both stores, the website is submitted to Google, and we can run product-page SEO and Google Ads for new enquiries.

Integrations

Integrations that matter in a factory business

  • Tally Prime for ledgers, outstanding, stock and invoices
  • Your ERP (SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics or a local ERP) through its API
  • GST e-invoice (IRN) and e-way bill through a GSP or your ERP
  • WhatsApp Business API for order, dispatch and ticket updates
  • Razorpay or Cashfree payment links for advance and part payments
  • Google Maps for dealer locator and engineer visit check-in
  • Drawing and file uploads (PDF, DWG, STEP) with secure storage
  • Staff attendance for shop floor and field teams
  • SMS and email alerts for approvals and overdue tickets
  • Zoho or a custom CRM for enquiry and quotation follow-up

Cost and timeline for manufacturing software

A B2B catalogue website with product pages, datasheets and an RFQ form usually falls in the Rs 1-4 lakh range, depending on how many products and how much content needs writing. A dealer app with logins, price tiers, credit check and an admin panel is a mid-complexity build, typically Rs 4-12 lakh. A full system with dealer ordering, field sales, service tickets, AMC tracking and two-way ERP sync is a larger platform at Rs 12-40 lakh or more. GST is extra, and yearly upkeep is usually 15-25% of the build cost.

What pushes the cost up: many product variants with complex pricing rules, two-way sync with an ERP that has no clean API, multiple plants or warehouses, and export pricing in more than one currency. What keeps it down: a clean product master, starting with one dealer tier structure, and a one-way Tally sync before a two-way one. For more on how app pricing works, see our guide to app development cost in India, and for when to build versus buy, read custom software vs off-the-shelf.

For staff attendance on the shop floor and for field engineers, you can use our ready attendance management app instead of building one, which saves both time and money.

Mistakes to avoid, and when not to build an app yet

The biggest mistake is building a dealer app on top of messy data. If the same part has three names across sales, stores and Tally, the app will show wrong stock and wrong prices, and dealers will stop using it within a month. Fix the product master first. It is boring work, but it decides whether the project succeeds.

Second, do not force a full ERP replacement into an app project. If Tally or your ERP already handles accounts and inventory well, connect to it. Rebuilding accounting is expensive and risky. Third, do not skip the dealer pilot. A dealer who is used to calling your coordinator needs a reason to switch, such as faster dispatch or seeing his own ledger.

If you have fewer than 15 dealers and most orders are large custom jobs quoted one by one, you may not need a dealer app yet. A good catalogue website with a strong RFQ form and a simple quotation tracker will give you more return. Add the app when repeat orders grow.

Manufacturing software and website questions

Can the dealer app show each dealer their own price?

Yes. Each dealer is mapped to a price tier or a custom discount, and the app shows only their prices. Scheme discounts and quantity slabs can be added on top.

Will it work with Tally?

Yes. We can read ledgers, outstanding and stock from Tally Prime and push orders into it as sales orders or vouchers. We usually start one-way and add two-way sync once the data is stable.

Can buyers upload drawings with an RFQ?

Yes. The RFQ form accepts PDF, DWG, STEP and image files, stores them securely, and sends the estimator a link with material, quantity and delivery details.

Do you handle e-invoice and e-way bills?

We connect to the e-invoice and e-way bill system through your ERP or a GST Suvidha Provider, so IRN and e-way bill numbers come back into the order record. We do not replace your accountant's GST filing.

Our dealers are not tech-savvy. Will they use an app?

Most will if it saves them a phone call. We keep screens simple, support Hindi or Marathi labels if needed, and run a pilot with a few dealers before full rollout.

Can the service team use the same system?

Yes. Engineers get a field app with assigned tickets, machine history, warranty status and photo upload. Customers or dealers can raise tickets with the machine serial number.

Can we track AMC contracts and renewals?

Yes. The admin panel keeps an AMC register with visit schedules and renewal dates, and sends reminders before a contract expires.

Should we build a website first or the app first?

If you need new customers, start with the catalogue website and RFQ. If most business is repeat orders from dealers, start with the dealer app. Many clients do the website first because it is faster.

Do you work with plants outside Navi Mumbai?

Yes. We visit units in Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune, and work with manufacturers anywhere in India over video calls and WhatsApp.
