Working With Tally
Keep Tally for Accounts, Run Operations in the ERP
Your accountant and CA already know Tally, and your GST filings run from it. Replacing it is rarely worth the disruption. Instead, the custom ERP handles what Tally was never meant to: purchase requests and approvals, stock across godowns, production stages, dispatch planning, dealer orders and field sales.
When an invoice, purchase or stock transfer is completed in the ERP, the entry is sent to Tally, so accounts stay in step without double entry. Masters such as customers, items and ledgers are matched once at the start so both systems agree.
For staff attendance and payroll inputs, there is often no need to build a module from scratch. Infoways also makes iPresent, our own attendance and employee management system with selfie check-in verified by face ID, GPS and IP, and payroll-ready reports.

Mistakes to Avoid
Where ERP Projects Go Wrong
The most common mistake is trying to switch every department on the same day. When something goes wrong, nobody knows which part caused it, and staff lose trust in the system. A module-by-module rollout avoids this.
The second is bad master data. If one item has three names in three registers, the ERP will report three items. Spending a little time cleaning item codes and customer lists before launch saves months of confusing reports. Finally, name one person inside your business who owns the ERP, takes decisions on process questions and signs off each milestone.
