Where asset tracking saves the most money
A pharma company with medical reps across Navi Mumbai and Thane gives each rep a tablet and a SIM. Reps change often. Without a record, devices go missing at every exit, and nobody can say who had which one. With the checklist, the last salary is released only after the tablet is back.

When this is not the right asset tool
iPresent tracks equipment given to people. If you need to manage plant machinery maintenance schedules, depreciation registers for your auditor, or software licence renewals, a dedicated fixed asset or IT asset system is a better fit. Many companies use iPresent for the people side and keep their accounting fixed asset register in Tally.
Also, do not try to record every stapler on day one. Start with the items that cost real money or hold company data, such as laptops, phones and SIMs. Once that list is clean and staff are used to confirming their items, add the smaller things.
