A litigation practice lives by its diary. Every matter has a next date, and every evening someone has to check what happened in court, write the new date, tell the client, and make sure the right junior and the right file reach the right court the next morning. In many chambers this is still a paper diary, a clerk's register and a lot of phone calls. It works until a date is written wrong, a junior falls ill, or a client calls three times asking what happened.
The website is a different matter. The Bar Council of India Rules do not allow advocates to solicit work or advertise, so a law firm website cannot work like a normal marketing site. As we understand the rules, Rule 36 was amended to let advocates publish a website with factual details such as names, contact details, enrolment number, the State Bar Council, qualifications and areas of practice. So the site is informational. It must not carry testimonials, success rates, claims of being the best, or offers to take on cases.
Where software can really help a practice is inside: a case diary, a client portal that gives updates without phone calls, a secure document vault, and fee tracking per matter. This page is for independent advocates, chambers with juniors, litigation and corporate firms, and in-house legal teams that manage outside counsel.
Infoways builds these systems from Mahape in Navi Mumbai for advocates and firms in Mumbai, Thane, Pune and across India. We build the software. Your advocates decide what the website says.
